Stripling and Pitts Research Process Model (1988)
Stipling and Pitts - Barbara Stripling and Judy Pitts developed a taxonomy and a 10-step process for research, focusing on higher level thinking, resulting in higher quality products. Reflection questions for the steps in the process encourage a thoughtful approach to research. This model guides students through the stages of creating a research paper. The 10 steps begin with choosing a topic and end with creating and presenting the final topic.
The REACTS taxonomy
Ten Step Research Process - Along with the the teaching strategies associated with the REACTS Taxonomy, Stripling and Pitts designed a 10-step process to help students develop their term paper from topic selection to final product. Each step includes reflective questions to help the student focus their activities.
